T/TR For Tuesday

Hello all,

Today we discussed our texts. With Zafon's quote "that few things leave a deeper mark on a reader than the first book that finds its way into his heart" as our lens, we crafted our list of books or texts that we felt left this mark, and we also discussed the validity and applicability of using these texts to teach others.

Here is the list of books:
Lord of the Flies
The FIrm
I am the Messenger
Brave New World
Wuthering Heights
Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone
Hatchet
Veronica decides to Die
After Dark
The Giver
The World is Flat

Today in class, we covered some information about Timed Writing. As you enter this portion of the semester, you will want to focus on preparing for all your writing situations. I will be emailing around the ppt which should help you as you move forward with more writing opportunities.

We also discussed the Volunteering and Interviewing portion of the Project. Remember, you will need to make sure that you have your interviews and volunteering complete for class on Tuesday.

Interview information: Audacity (Free download for mac and pc), Sayandpost (For pc), use your ipod with microphone attachment, Garageband (MAC).

I will email the volunteer information and interview information.

Also if you need a cardboard backing, let me know.
