Hello all,
For today, we discussed Kingston "White Tigers." We had a short knowledge nugget where we conducted a rhetorical analyses of the text. We then moved to framing the story into not just rhetorical analysis but also to the ways the text references areas of our culture.
We also discussed the storycorps interview that we are completing for the Project three presentation. We discussed the importance of story-telling or of talk-story. We discussed that listening to people speak of their experiences is a great way to 1. augment our understanding of an issue and 2. to think about ways to teach others about the issue. You need to listen to the npr.org (storycorps link) to listen to the unique way that you will be interviewing someone.
For class on Tuesday:
Read-Vogler 293-312 (last Vogler)
For thursday read Zafon selection (emailed)
Write: Work on rhetorical analysis
Do: Peer/Self evaluation of project two (due on Tuesday)
Think about a person to interview.
Volunteering.
Take care,
Kat
