M/W/F For Friday

Hello all,

Today we had a knowledge nugget on Kingston's _The Woman Warrior_. We wrote on the ethos, pathos, and logos inherent in the story.

Here are sampling of the statements/observations:

Ethos can be seen when she builds an army.
One aspect of pathos was the searing pain felt wile she endured the tattooing of all the transgressions against her village into her back.
Ethos is when I identified with Mulan be coming strong and independent.
The logos is the task that she must complete for her civilization, and she must pretend to be a boy and fight in her father's place.

We also discussed the storycorps interview that we are completing for the Project three presentation. We discussed the importance of story-telling or of talk-story. We discussed that listening to people speak of their experiences is a great way to 1. augment our understanding of an issue and 2. to think about ways to teach others about the issue. You need to listen to the npr.org (storycorps link) to listen to the unique way that you will be interviewing someone.

For class on Friday:

Read-None

Write: Work on rhetorical analysis

Do: Peer/Self evaluation of project two
Think about a person to interview.
Volunteering.

Take care,

Kat
