T/Fr For Friday

Hello all,

Today in class, Professor Greg talked about the reward and the road back. Lucy and Raj discussed how the reward often comes later in the journey then we, as the reader and/or viewer, would like.. We then shifted to discussing the road back, which is the stage in the journey when we initiate the journey back to ordinary world. We connected the Vogler reading to the Bell Jar, and we discussed the ability of the reader, like the hero to accept that we don't always get to go home.

For class on Tuesday, we need to focus on completing our project two draft. If you have not posted your draft yet, you need to do that asap. You need to make your revisions on your draft by Tuesday, to conduct a peer review session.

We discussed the importance of taking our knowledge and giving it back to our communities. In fact, as I mentioned what good is knowledge if you only produce a product. Remember, as I have mentioned many times, one repays a teacher badly if one remains nothing but a pupil. You need to go and to present your ideas to your community, for it is only through sharing, teaching, and telling that we, too, are able to engage our knowledge and to become scholars.

On Tues. we will have a visit from Jill Bobay to discuss opportunities to volunteer. Moreover, we also discussed the various methods that we use to learn and to teach about issues and ideas. So, we will be using fiction pieces, to teach others about aspects of our research during our ultimate presentation.
