M/W/F For Weds.

Hello all,

Today in class, we conducted a group "writing" knowledge nugget about Kerouac and Vogler. Six Groups wrote six paragraphs, and here is a condensed version of what the six paragraphs would look like as an essay/paragraph.

In Kerouac's _On The Road_, the ordinary world is Gregoria. In the book, _On The Road, again there is a slight call to adventure. Sal recieves the call to adventure when he meets up with Dean in Denver. Along with this came the refusal of the call when he suggest they should go back. We think Dean was Sal's mentor who became a shadow. One evident archetype in this section was Tests, allies, and enemies as well as the element of an ordeal. These tests lead to Mexico City and culimanted in the ordeal with Sal getting sick with dysentry while Dean receives urgent news he must return to the united states immediately to deal with his wive(s). Therefore, several aspects of Vogler's journey are present in Kerouac's _On The Road_.

We then transitioned to creating and establishing the rubric for Project Two. Yes, it is helpful to evaluate your and your peer's work, and yes, it is hard.

Here are some copies of our discussion which will become our rubric.

For Friday:

Read: Nothing (but if you want to watch the _Reefer Madness_ Video as we will be discussing it on Friday.

Write: Work on your draft for project two

Do: Compile your annotated bibliographies in hard-copy for the midterm review.

Take care,

Kat
